The Women's Philanthropy Institute (WPI) was founded in 1997 to help
women understand their full potential and capabilities as financial
donors, and to inspire women to fulfill their philanthropic potential.
In 2004, WPI became a program of the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana
University.
WPI is a leader in donor-centered education for women. With a cadre
of experienced presenters and an extensive knowledge base, WPI's programs
and services are designed to unleash women's philanthropic power. They
include:
- Training and Education
WPI provides customized workshops, peer learning groups, institutes, and seminars, with donor education and
staff/board development curriculum tailored to meet client needs.
- Speakers
WPI presenters and facilitators with expertise in
a range of topic areas are available for meetings, programs and
conferences nationwide.
- Technical Assistance
WPI can provide assistance with a wide
array of services such as initiating a women's giving circle in your
community, building a women's endowment at your university, or
strengthening women's participation in your nonprofit organization.
- Research
As a program of the Center on Philanthropy at
Indiana University, WPI has access to some of the sector’s top scholars
and researchers. WPI engages in research, encourages research of others
through advising, and contracts out its research services to a wide
variety of organizations and institutions interested in learning more
about women’s philanthropy.
