Dr. Hester Klopper and colleagues receive the Spirit of Philanthropy award at the Sigma Theta Tau International nursing conference for capacity building in Africa.
Alice Lau responded immediately to the 2010 Haiti earthquake from her home in China, more than 9,000 miles away. Dr. Hester Klopper and her colleagues in South Africa volunteered more than 58,000 hours to build capacity for nursing education in East Africa. Dr. Pamala Wiepking's research finds “gender differences in giving both within and between countries.” Nano Chatfield found her passion for international philanthropy after volunteering at a Tanzanian orphanage.
