The Women's Philanthropy Institute at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University plays an important role in translational research: taking knowledge generated from scientific inquiry and rigorous quantitative and qualitative scholarship and transforming it into best practices and strategic solutions. This process entails more than just application. Translational research intentionally targets a problem and constructs a solution based on evidence.

WPI’s strategic research goals are to:

  • Advance women’s philanthropy through original research by addressing significant and ground-breaking research questions
  • Translate research into increased understanding and improvements in practice
