Increasing the Understanding of Philanthropy and Improving Its Practice
Convening
As part of its mission to further the understanding of women’s philanthropy, the Women’s Philanthropy Institute periodically convenes large and small groups for thoughtful reflection, analysis, and discussion of timely issues. The Institute has convened three national symposia about women’s philanthropy, in 2005, 2008, and 2011.
2011 Women World Wide Leading through Philanthropy
The Center’s annual symposium is an opportunity to step back from day-to-day demands and reflect on the changing philanthropic environment. This is not a “how-to” conference; it will provide an overview of research about women and global philanthropy, and opportunities for lively discussion about current issues and models of engagement.
Visit the symposium website for the full agenda and videos from the plenary sessions.
2008 Moving Women's Philanthropy Forward: Influences, Intent, Impact
The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University convened its annual symposium to a capacity crowd on November 13-14, 2008. "Moving Women's Philanthropy Forward: Influences, Intent, Impact" provided an overview of the evolving, versatile women's philanthropy field. Through a series of keynote addresses and breakout sessions attendees reflected on and helped to shape the possibilities and future of women's philanthropy.
