William H. Schneider
Professor, Department of History, Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)
Dr. Schneider directs the Medical Humanities Program in the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. He also has an adjunct appointment in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the IU School of Medicine.
Dr. Schneider teaches classes in the history of medicine, science and technology, medical humanities, and the history of humanitarian assistance. He has received Fulbright and National Science Foundation fellowships, plus research grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and National Institutes of Health. His recent work includes an edited volume on Rockefeller Foundation funding of medical research around the world.
Dr. Schneider holds a B.A. from Stanford University, an M.A. from Duquesne University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
