We are proud to announce that we have partnered with Johnson, Grossnickle and Associates (JGA) on new quantitative and qualitative research into the organizational- and board-level factors that influence success in obtaining million-dollar gifts. The new research will help paint a picture of highly successful development shops by examining institutional data derived from a multisource dataset as well as through in-depth interviews with donors and staff at three case study institutions with a successful track record of securing transformational million dollar gifts.
Million-dollar donors have been studied extensively, but less is known about the institutions that receive their gifts. What makes them so attractive to generous donors, and what can other institutions learn from their examples? This report examines colleges and universities that benefit from donations of one million dollars or more, and identifies the characteristics that help them attract major gifts.
