Bantz appoints Pasic to Eugene R. Tempel DeanshipIUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz has appointed Amir Pasic, dean of the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, as the first incumbent to hold the school's named, endowed deanship. Pasic's appointment as the Eugene R. Tempel Dean is effective immediately.

Giving USA: Americans Donated an Estimated $358.38 Billion to Charity in 2014; Highest Total in Report's 60-year HistoryAmericans gave an estimated $358.38 billion to charity in 2014, surpassing the peak last seen before the Great Recession, according to the 60th anniversary edition of Giving USA, released today. That total slightly exceeded the benchmark year of 2007, when giving hit an estimated inflation-adjusted total of $355.17 billion.

Top Hasbro exec, philanthropist Alan Hassenfeld to keynote symposiumAn international business leader with a passion for philanthropy will deliver the keynote address at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy's 2015 symposium, "Philanthropy and Fundraising: What We Know and What We Need to Know." The event will be held Oct. 30 in Indianapolis.

Women's philanthropy researcher earns doctoral fellowshipElizabeth J. Dale, a doctoral candidate at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, is the recipient of the 2015 Women’s Philanthropy Institute (WPI) Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, WPI officials announced today. The award will help Dale complete her dissertation on the philanthropic practices of same-sex couples, including their motivations for giving and how couples make philanthropic decisions as part of the household economy.

Stanczykiewicz named director of The Fund Raising SchoolBill Stanczykiewicz has been appointed director of The Fund Raising School and senior lecturer in philanthropic studies at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Largest number of students in school history graduateThe largest number of Philanthropic Studies students ever to graduate from Indiana University's Lilly Family School of Philanthropy will receive their degrees during IUPUI's commencement ceremonies May 10. The 53 graduates comprise the third group of students to be graduated from the new school since its founding in 2012 and the largest since the 1987 founding of the school's predecessor, the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. The 2015 commencement also includes the most bachelor of arts degree graduates to date.

Mesch named to Eileen Lamb O'Gara Chair in Women's PhilanthropyWomen's philanthropy expert Debra Mesch, Ph.D., has been selected to hold the world's first endowed chair dedicated to research and teaching about women's philanthropy. She will expand research, understanding and awareness about women's unique and powerful role in giving, volunteering and leadership of philanthropic organizations.
