Learning to Give

The Learning to Give curriculum is an exciting education series with character-building lesson plans for grades 6-8. We are proud to present this series to you. It is the result of a collaboration between Millennium and Learning to Give – Indiana. Currently, about 920 students are learning about philanthropy through the Learning to Give curriculum.

The lesson plans not only emphasize the value of leadership; they also share the history, principles, and practices of philanthropy, which the Center on Philanthropy defines as “voluntary action for the public good”. These standards-based, easy-to-use lesson plans are divided into four sections:

  • Definition of Philanthropy
  • Philanthropy and Leadership
  • Philanthropy and Community
  • Nonprofit Sector as a Career Option
In addition to Learning to Give's collaboration with Millennium, the organization has recently partnered with The League, a nonprofit organization that is structured like a sports league, but hosts events that allow students to focus on the givin
