Third Millennium Philanthropy and Leadership Initiative

"Illuminating the path to fully inclusive philanthropic leadership"

With generous support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Third Millennium Philanthropy and Leadership Initiative is a major undertaking of the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.

Millennium has three major constituencies: youth, women, and people of color. Specifically, Millennium seeks to identify and encourage young people to explore the history, principles, and practices of philanthropy, which will lead to succeeding generations of philanthropic leaders. Further, Millennium facilitates the expansion of executive leadership opportunities for women and people of color in the philanthropic sector. We do so via professional development, research, peer-to-peer networking, lectures, workshops, and a host of other activities.

This online "entry point" is one tool that will assist us in reaching our goals of helping individuals and organizations learn from each other and teaching each other how to transform ourselves in order to better engage board, staff, donors, and volunteers from underrepresented communities. Additionally, this site houses a database of resources relating to Millennium's key constituencies, as well as the broader philanthropic community.
