You can study Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy at the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

You may choose from among the following programs:

  • American Humanics Certificate , 18 credits and internship
  • Museum Studies Certificate , 24 credits
  • Nonprofit Management Certificate , 15 credits and internship
  • Philanthropic Studies minor , 15 credits
  • Public and Nonprofit Management major , 30 credits
  • Summer Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service , 6 credits and in-depth internship

Eight reasons you should study Philanthropy and Nonprofit Management at IUPUI:

1. Indiana University Center on Philanthropy offers a strong foundation for your study and strives to increase your understanding of philanthropy and improve its practice through research, teaching, public service and public affairs.

2. The Fund Raising School , located in the Center on Philanthropy, has taught more than 25,000 fund-raising professionals on six continents over the course of 25 years and is the only international fund raising education program housed within a university. It has countless resources for you.

3. The Payton Philanthropic Studies Library is one of the world's largest and most comprehensive collections of books, periodicals, dissertations, and audio-visual resources on the subject of philanthropy and is available to you at IUPUI.

4. Many nonprofit agencies, foundations, and consulting firms have their headquarters in Indianapolis and can provide you with outstanding opportunities for internships, jobs, and professional networking.

5. Six interdisciplinary nonprofit management and philanthropy programs are available to you at IUPUI. You may choose a major, minor, certificate or summer institute in these fields.

6. Sixty-five outstanding faculty who will guide you through your studies have built their careers around teaching and conducting research in the nonprofit sector.

7. The American Humanics Certificate in Nonprofit Management program is available to you regardless of your major and allows you to add a nonprofit management focus to your degree. It is the only national certification in nonprofit management and philanthropy for undergraduate students.
