My association with The Fund Raising School goes back to the pre-IUPUI days with Hank Rosso. I am thankful to Hank for his wisdom and anticipation of the learning needs among the non-profit world for a sound education in philanthropy. In addition, I am grateful that The Center on Philanthropy has continued his vision and enriched it for the 21st century. I was taught that every gift we seek must concretely enhance and enrich our organization's vision and mission while simultaneously enhancing and enriching the life of the donor. Thank you for your gift.

Kent Harold Richards, Professor of Old Testament and Executive Director, Society of Biblical Literature

My years as a staff member at the Center on Philanthropy in its formative years were some of the most rewarding in my 46-year career in the Philanthropy Sector. My heartiest congratulations to the dreamer-doers who labored long and hard to transform this critical vision from dream to reality. The Center on Philanthropy and the research it generates makes important and lasting contributions to helping this nation and this world to be better places.

Charles R. Stephens, President, ChaSte, Inc.

As the president of Skystone Ryan, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Center on Philanthropy for achieving this momentous milestone. We applaud the Center for its dedication to strengthening philanthropy and serving as an innovative global leader in promoting the noble profession of fundraising and its commitment to nonprofits.

John C. Olberding, President, Skystone Ryan

Some of my fondest memories of IU are those where we worked together for the betterment of the School of Liberal Arts and IUPUI. I greatly admire and respect the direction you have taken the Center and the many accomplishments that have occurred under your leadership. Please give my best regards to all those associated with the Center on Philanthropy.

Herman J. Saatkamp, Jr. , President, and Former Dean of Indiana University School of Liberal Arts, IUPUI , The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey

The Council on Foundations congratulates the Center on Philanthropy on its 20th anniversary. The philanthropic community has witnessed remarkable growth over the last 20 years, and the next 20 years will be equally exciting. I am confident Indiana University will remain a leader and pacesetter. As we grow philanthropy in size and service, and look to serve the common good in more efficient ways, academic centers, such as yours will continue to be extremely important in providing leadership, conducting research and providing research training. The dual role – creating a new generation of philanthropic leaders and conducting the appropriate research to lead us to new heights of impact and effectiveness will define the future of our sector. The Council on Foundations wishes you all the best as you celebrate this milestone and we look forward to our continued partnership. Your role is critical. We’re counting on you!

Steve Gunderson , President and CEO , Council on Foundations
