INDIANAPOLIS - The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University has appointed four individuals to its Board of Governors. The new members:
L.H. Bayley of Indianapolis is chairman of David A. Noyes & Company, a national investment brokerage firm, and has extensive involvement in the Indianapolis nonprofit community. He has been the recipient of several awards for his community service, including the Elizabeth Ann Seton Award, the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Indiana Chapter's award for Indiana's Outstanding Volunteer of the Year, the Sagamore of the Wabash and many others.
Robert F. Long of Battle Creek, Mich., is vice president for programs in philanthropy and volunteerism at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation where he also has served as program director. Prior to joining the foundation, Long served as the McElroy Professor of Youth Leadership Studies at the University of Northern Iowa where he also directed the Division of Youth and Human Service Administration.
Vop Osili of Indianapolis is president of A2SO4 Architecture and serves on several nonprofit boards in the Indianapolis area, including Christian Theological Seminary, Indiana Humanities Council, Children's Museum of Indianapolis, the International Center, Madame Walker Theater Center and Visiting Nurse Service.
Richard C. Turner of Indianapolis is professor of English and philanthropic studies at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and is representing the philanthropic studies faculty. He has published an essay on the language of fundraising and currently is working on a book on philanthropy and literature in 18 th century England.
The Center on Philanthropy is a leading academic center that increases the understanding of philanthropy and improves its practice through research, teaching, public service and public affairs programs. The Center is headquartered in the Indiana University School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI, and operates programs on the IUPUI and IU Bloomington Campus.
