Spiritual Values & Philanthropic Discernment

This seminar will help donors explore the spiritual dimension of their humanity as a key to their personal philanthropy. Through the philanthropic autobiography, the crafting of a portrait of hope as a legacy for future generations, and the reading and telling of stories of generous giving specific to Christian and Jewish faith traditions, each participant is freed to embark on a journey into his/her own soul as a way to discover the joy and potential of transformative giving.

This program is ideal for: private donors or those who work with and seek a better understanding of donors.

“Building a Philanthropic Cathedral for Your Soul encouraged me to reflect and identify my passions, to understand where they come from, and to experience the absolute joy that comes from transformational giving. My pocketbook feels like it has been baptized!”

“My experience with the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving was life changing. I found the seminar biblically sound, personally engaging, and professionally challenging. It really is a top-notch program led by faith filled enablers who personally and powerfully make their case.”

“We all have a story to tell that inspires our giving—life encounters we remember that put us in touch with our passions. The Discernment Seminar is a powerful tool in discovering the narrative that connects our personal experience with our public philanthropy. Stories from the past offer surprising revelations about the spiritual legacy we want to bequeath to the next generation.”

Sandy Sasso
Rabbi, Congregation Beth-El Zedeck
Indianapolis, Indiana
