September 21st
2009		 Javier Sevilla-Martir, M.D., is a faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine at the IU School of Medicine. Originally from Honduras, he leads the International Medicine Honduras Project, a partnership between IU's Department of Family Medicine, the Honduran government, and doctors in that country. The project gives medical students a chance to serve in a third world country and practice their medical skills at the same time. They may be contacted at:

2009		 Mercy Obeime, M.D., head of Community Hospital Clinic, Indianapolis, and director of the Mercy Foundation which provides medical assistance to the central region of Nigeria, her country of birth . Click here for a link to her foundation's website.
October 5th
2009		 Tim Mercer is a 3rd-year Medical Student at Indiana University School of Medicine. He took time off after his second year of medical school to obtain a Masters in Public Health and studied street children in Africa. He is currently organizing the Tumaini Children’s Center , a drop-in center and clinic in Eldoret, Kenya.

2009		 Dave Miner, national board chairman, Bread for the World, “a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad.”
November 2nd
2009		 Carleen F. Miller, Executive Director, Exodus Refugee Immigration Inc. (Indianapolis), part of a network of affiliates that work with Church World Service Immigration and Refugee Program (CWS/IRP) and Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM) to assist, “refugees worldwide, victims of persecution, injustice and war to establish self-sufficient lives in freedom and sanctuary for themselves and their families in Indiana”
November 16th
2009		 Abebaw Minaye, Lecturer in the Department of Psychology and PhD student in the School of Social Work, Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) will speak on his study of the traffic of Women from Ethiopia to the Gulf States/Middle East.

2009		 “Fighting Malaria in Africa and Haiti,” Thursday 7:00-9:00 p.m. talk at Marian University by Dr. Richard Keating, Department of International Health and Development at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Click here for more information.

2009		 On Tuesday, 6:00-7:00 PM, in CA 211 (IUPUI) Peter Singer will participate in an interactive video discussion with students at IUPUI. Singer is a world famous bioethicist at Princeton University who recently authored a book entitled, The Life You Can Save: Acting Now to End World Poverty.
November 2nd
2009		 On Monday, 8:00-9:15 a.m. Greg Mortensen will speak on "Three Cups of Tea: Promoting Peace, One School, One Child at a Time" at the Indiana Convention Center. Click here for more information about purchasing tickets.
