An initiative of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, Building Bridges Between Practice and Knowledge in Nonprofit Management Education aims to help third-sector leaders respond to the changing nonprofit management environment with more effective and efficient programs.
The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University participates in this initiative with the Expanding Access to Nonprofit Management Education project.
Purpose of the Project
To improve the understanding of the philanthropic tradition, transmit understanding to new constituencies and successor generations, and improve the practice of philanthropy and fundraising.
Project Goals
- To develop courses, in Web format, in nonprofit management to increase access to nonprofit education.
- To develop collaborations in providing nonprofit management education.
- To disseminate best practices learned from field-tested methods.

Collaboration Among Institutions Report
Improving nonprofit management education through institutional collaborations was the focus of a fall 2002 meeting of leading university-based centers that study philanthropy and the nonprofit field.
