The Center's Progress Report for Fiscal Year 2006-2007

The Center on Philanthropy addresses the issues that are at the heart of philanthropy, assisting donors, foundations and nonprofit organizations as they change lives and communities. As it celebrates 20 years of moving philanthropy forward, the Center is helping to set the pace for research, training, education and public service that benefit philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.

The complex world of the 21st century relies on philanthropy to create community, enhance human potential and meet vital needs. The Center has become a key source for objective, verifiable, knowledge, education and training that helps ensure the health and continuation of philanthropy and effective, ethical leadership. Through groundbreaking studies such as the Center on Philanthropy Panel Study; through pioneering academic programs like the first-of-its-kind Ph.D. in Philanthropic Studies; and by training and convening nonprofit leaders through The Fund Raising School and the Philanthropy Summit, the Center ensures that life-changing philanthropy succeeds in our communities and around the globe.

Because of the work and commitment of the Center's donors, faculty members, partners, students, volunteers and leaders, the nonprofit sector and the essential services it provides are strengthened and enhanced in dynamic ways. This progress report, Touching Lives: Innovative Leadership, Individual Impact, is a tribute to that work and commitment.
